Yakima Airport Providing Face Masks

To help slow the spread of COVID-19, and in compliance with face covering requirements that take effect Friday, Yakima Air Terminal-McAllister Field (YKM) will provide more than 12,000 masks to airport tenants, passengers and visitors.

YKM has received 6,500 cloth masks from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and will receive an additional 6,000 masks from Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

“We’ve ordered facemask dispensers for the terminal building and they will be placed strategically throughout the facility for tenants, passengers, and visitors to utilize,” said Airport Director Rob Peterson. “This comes at a time where we are starting to see an increase in passenger traffic.”

YKM will also provide hand sanitizer adjacent to the facemask locations.

Plans continue later this summer for a runway improvement project at YKM that will require closing the airport runway from 6:00 am on Monday, August 24th, through 8:00 pm on Saturday, August 29th.

Airline passengers are encouraged to seek alternate travel arrangements between August 24th and August 29th, such as traveling via Airporter Shuttle. Passengers can make reservations by contacting Airporter Shuttle at 866-235-5247 or https://airporter.com/shuttle/reservations/
