Yakima City Council August 22nd Study Session Review

The Yakima City Council met for a study session yesterday, Tuesday, August 22nd.

Action by the Council on August 22nd included:

  • Directing City staff to bring back information on a proposal to add parking meters along Yakima Avenue between 1st and 3rd Streets and along 2nd and 3rd Streets between Yakima Avenue and Staff Sergeant Pendleton Way.
  • Directing staff to bring back information on a proposal to close the City-owned parking lot north of Chestnut Avenue between 2nd and 3rd Streets for a period of seven consecutive days.
  • Directing staff to prepare City Code amendments regarding nuisance weeds that were discussed during the study session for further consideration by the Council at a future Council meeting.
  • Approving a resolution ratifying an Interlocal Agreement with Yakima County regarding a 2017 Justice Assistance Grant.

The Council’s next regular business meeting will take place at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, September 5th in Council Chambers at Yakima City Hall, 129 North Second Street.
