The Yakima City Council held a regular business meeting yesterday, Tuesday, January 2nd.
Action by the Council on January 2nd included:
- Electing Kathy Coffey to serve as mayor and Dulce Gutiérrez to serve as assistant mayor for 2018-2019.
- Administering the Oath of Office for 3 newly elected City Council members.
- Issuing a proclamation commemorating Yakima’s historic name change.
- Receiving a report on the Yakima Central Plaza’s fundraising status, and receiving a check of more than $9.6 million in private funds raised for the project by the Plaza Committee.
