Yakima City Council July 5th Regular Meeting Review

The Yakima City Council held a regular meeting on Tuesday, July 5th.

Action taken by the Council included:

  • Authorizing an application with the Supporting Infrastructure for Economic Development (SIED) program on behalf of Yakima First Partners, LLC to fund an improvement to the existing street intersection of South 1st Street and Russell Lane
  • Authorizing a contract with Yakima Valley Partners Habitat for Humanity in the amount of $87,500 of HOME Investment funds to assist with new construction of a single-family dwelling at 2912 W. Arlington to be sold to a qualified low-to-moderate-income, first-time homebuyer
  • Amending Section 6.44.020 of the City of Yakima Municipal Code by adopting RCW 9.41.305, which prohibits the open carry of firearms or other weapons in a local government building
  • Holding a public meeting to consider the Notice of Intent to Commence the Golden Ridge Annexation in the vicinity of Coolidge Road and S. 94th Avenue
