Yakima City Council November 2nd Regular Meeting Preview

The Yakima City Council will hold a regular meeting at 5:30 pm on Monday, November 2nd, in Council Chambers at Yakima City Hall, 129 North 2nd Street.

Council is holding the meeting on Monday because Tuesday, November 3rd, is the 2020 General Election.

Agenda items for the November 2nd regular meeting include:

  • A COVID-19 update
  • A resolution approving extension of Mayoral Proclamation declaring emergency order, if the Mayor issues a proclamation extending the civil emergency proclamation and order due to COVID-19.
  • Update on additional COVID-19 funds.
  • Holding the first public hearing on the 2021 Preliminary Budget for the City of Yakima.
  • Holding a public hearing pertaining to Ad Valorem taxes to be levied for collection in 2021.

The following precautions are in place for the November 2nd regular meeting due to COVID-19:

  • The meeting will be conducted via speakerphone and Zoom.
  • Since Yakima City Hall is closed to public access, no community members can attend in person.
  • There will be no opportunity for verbal communications, with the exception of four public hearings. (See information below).
  • E-mail ccouncil2@yakimawa.gov to provide written comment to the City Council. Written comments received by 3:00 pm on Monday, November 2nd, will be provided to the City Council prior to the meeting.

There will be four public hearings at 6:00 pm Tuesday night. Anyone wishing to comment on a public hearing should do the following:

  4. When prompted for the meeting password enter 108823 #
  5. If you wish to speak to the Council during the public hearing press *9
  6. When it is your turn to speak, you will hear an automated announcement indicating your phone has been unmuted and you can now be heard by all participating in the meeting.
