Yakima Parks and Recreation Issues Program Guide

A Snowball Tournament, travel, and Zumba are just a few of the seasonal offerings available in the 2018 Winter/Spring Program Guide issued recently by Yakima Parks and Recreation.

The guide is available at Yakima Parks and Recreation offices (2301 Fruitvale Boulevard), as well as online at http://bit.ly/2yTg1gO

One of the guide’s highlights is the 28th Annual Snowball Tournament set for January 13th and 14th. The popular softball tournament’s registration deadline is Monday, January 8th.

“All games are played with a 16-inch softball that changes rapidly into an icy mushball,” said Parks and Recreation Manager Ken Wilkinson. “We supply smudge pots and, with a little luck, there will hopefully be lots of snow!”

The Yakima Parks and Recreation programs for Winter/Spring include:

  • An Adult Zumba class at McClure Elementary School that begins Tuesday, January 2nd.
  • Co-Rec Volleyball Leagues that have team sign-ups underway now through January 8th.
  • The 2018 Trips & Tours Gala at the Harman Center on Thursday, January 25th.
  • Ballroom dance classes at the Harman Center.
