YKM Canopy Project Begins July 28th

Drivers should be alert for parking and lane changes at Yakima Air Terminal-McAllister Field (YKM) starting Monday, July 28th. The temporary traffic control measures are needed while crews replace three canopies in front of the terminal building: an east covered sidewalk, west covered sidewalk and a covered walkway between the main parking lot and building.


Gas Mainline Project to Cause Temporary Closures

Drivers can expect intermittent lane closures on a section of Yakima Avenue near Terrace Heights Drive due to a project now underway. Cascade Natural Gas has started work on a new, high-pressure gas mainline on Yakima Avenue just past the Walmart towards Terrace Heights Drive. As a result, temporary closures are expected on Yakima Avenue

Signal Upgrades to Impact Traffic this Summer

The City of Yakima has begun a series of traffic signal head upgrades at intersections over the next several weeks. The intersections listed below will be reduced to a single lane of traffic in each direction, with stop signs posted in all directions. Overnight Lane Closures Planned on Nob Hill Blvd

Nob Hill Boulevard between 14th Street and South Fair Avenue will be one lane each way overnight for three nights starting tomorrow, Tuesday. Lane closures are 9:00 pm to 5:00 am on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, July 15-17. The closures are needed so Crown Utilities can complete aerial work, moving existing utilities to new poles.

Clean City Program Reports Progress in 2025

Project Requires Lane Closures on N. 40th Avenue

North 40th Avenue will be one lane each way tomorrow morning, Wednesday, July 2nd, between Englewood Avenue and Richey Road. Lane closures are required to replace a sewer manhole.
