Work continues on the Nelson Dam removal and replacement project and will result in temporary road closures during the next two weeks. A sidewalk repair project will impact traffic on a section of 3rd Avenue during the next two weeks. Many of the City of Yakima’s facilities will be closed on Monday, May 30th, in observance of Memorial Day. That includes City Hall, Y-PAC, Public Works, and Parks and Recreation offices. The City of Yakima Harman Center will celebrate its 18th anniversary with an open house from 1:30 pm to 3:45 pm this Friday, May 20th. “We will provide tours of the center and talk about all of fun things we have going on,” said Recreation Program Supervisor Leslie Richards.
