City Holding News Conference About Winter Weather Effects

With winter weather continuing to impact the Yakima area, Yakima City Manager Cliff Moore will hold a news conference today at 1:00 pm in the Council Chambers at Yakima City Hall (129 N. 2nd Street) to discuss the effects heavy snow, low temperatures, high winds and other severe conditions are having on the community.

“The winter weather Yakima has been experiencing over the last week is expected to continue for at least the next few days,” said Moore.  “In these sorts of conditions, people need to be especially aware of their safety and be as patient as possible as long as the winter weather continues to affect our area.”

During the news conference, Moore will discuss the state of emergency declared by the City on Saturday, the City’s ongoing efforts to remove snow from roadways, and other winter weather-related information.

The news conference will be broadcast live on Y-PAC, Charter Cable channel 194 and live streamed on the City’s website at https://www.yakimawa.gov/council/live-stream/.
