Ditch Cleaning Project Will Impact Traffic on Pecks Canyon Road

A project involving cleaning drainage ditches will result in the closure of a section of Pecks Canyon Road for most of the day on Friday, November 18th.

No through traffic will be allowed on the portion of Pecks Canyon Road between Scenic Drive and Powerhouse Road from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm on November 18th while the project is underway.  Crews will clean debris from drainage ditches and will ensure that each ditch section is fully operational.  The project is expected to be completed the same day.

While the project is underway, detour routes around the project area will be available.  Appropriate signage will be in place to direct drivers to the detour routes.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related works zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

During the project, traffic delays around the project area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.

Access to homes in the project area will be impacted, but will be maintained when possible.  Emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area if necessary.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
