The Yakima City Council held its most recent regular agenda business meeting on Tuesday, February 5th. Action taken by the Council on February 5th included:
- Removing from the April special election ballot a proposal to initiate a car tab fee
- Placing on the August primary election ballot a proposal to amend the City Charter to require the annual investment of not less than $2 million in road improvements
- Approving Yakima Transit fare increases and service changes
- Naming three baseball fields at Kiwanis Park in memory of honored Kiwanis, Rotary, and Lions Club members
- Placing on the August primary election ballot a proposed City Charter amendment to require a two-thirds super majority vote of the Council to approve increasing taxes
- Approving termination of a Joint Operating Agreement with Yakima County regarding the Yakima Airport
