Manhole Repair on River Road to Impact Traffic

A project to repair a manhole on River Road will impact traffic in the project area for most of the morning on Tuesday, May 17th.

City of Yakima Wastewater Division crews will be making repairs to a manhole located in the intersection of River Road and 20th Avenue.  About 75 feet of the center turn lane on River Road in each direction from 20th Avenue (total of 150 feet) will be closed while the project is underway.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained and traffic will be allowed through the project area when possible.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For additional information about this project, contact Wastewater Collections Supervisor Bobby Brown at 406-7103.
