Pavement Repair Project Will Close Section of I Street

From Sunday, June 30th through Wednesday, July 3rd, closures of the section of I Street between 1st Street and 6th Avenue will impact traffic in the area.  Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area if possible and to find alternate routes.

That section of I Street will be closed while pavement that has been removed during an industrial wastewater line installation project is repaired.

TTC Construction, a Yakima-based firm, is serving as the primary contractor on the wastewater line installation line project that began earlier this year.

On Sunday, June 30th, I Street between 1st Street and 6th Avenue will be closed beginning at 6:00 pm to allow TTC crews to prepare the road surface for repairs.  From Monday, July 1st through Wednesday, July 3rd, that section of I Street will be closed from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm each day while repairs are underway.

During the project, traffic delays in the area of 1st Street, 5th Avenue, and I Street will occur as asphalt truck arrive and leave the project area.  Again, drivers are strongly encouraged to use alternate routes until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be impacted, but will be maintained when possible. Emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area if necessary.

As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
