Portion of D Street to Close During Pedestrian Safety Improvements Work

A portion of D Street will be closed beginning on Monday, April 21st to accommodate ongoing pedestrian safety improvements work.

D Street between 3rd Avenue and 6th Avenue will be closed to through traffic while the work is underway.  Through traffic will still be allowed on 5th Avenue through the project area.

The speed limit in the project area will be reduced to 20 miles-per-hour.  Flaggers will also assist drivers through the project area on 5th Avenue.

Drivers are encouraged to slow down in work zones, look out for workers and follow the posted speed limit.

Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area if necessary.

As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
