Relocation of Signal Pole Will Impact 16th Avenue and Nob Hill Traffic

The relocation of a traffic signal pole and the activation of the relocated pole will impact drivers during the evening of September 23rd in the area near the intersection of 16th Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard.

Crews from the City of Yakima and Knobel Electric will begin setting up cones and diverting traffic around the project area at about 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 23rd. Crews will then relocate a traffic signal pole to accommodate a new, northbound right turn lane. Full activation of the relocated traffic signal pole is expected to be completed by about 12:00 am.

While the project is underway, traffic signals at the intersection of 16th Avenue and Nob Hill will be disabled. Yakima Police Department officers will be on site to direct drivers through the project area.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.

Access to businesses in the area will be maintained and traffic will be allowed through the project area when possible.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
