Repair to Roadway and Manhole to Impact Traffic on 72nd Avenue

A project to repair a section of damaged roadway will result in traffic restrictions on a portion of 72nd Avenue for most of the day on Thursday, June 1st.  A manhole located in 72nd Avenue that was also damaged when the roadway sunk will also be repaired during the project.

As a result of the project, traffic along the section of 72nd Avenue between Midvale Avenue and Lindgren Drive will be restricted to one lane in each direction from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm on June 1st.  Detour routes around the project area will be available and will be marked with appropriate signage.  Flaggers will also be on site to help drivers navigate through the work area.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related works zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
