Road Improvement Project on 44th Avenue to Impact Traffic

A road improvement project will impact traffic along a section of 44th Avenue during the morning hours on Wednesday, June 15th.

The project will result in the closure of 44th Avenue between Arlington Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard from 6:00 am to about noon on June 15th.  No through traffic will be allowed on that section of 44th Avenue while the project is ongoing.

Signs and Lines crews from the City of Yakima Streets and Traffic Division will be restriping about 300 feet of 44th Avenue and adding a turn lane to 44th along the southern portion of the project area.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained as best as possible.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For additional information about this project, contact Streets and Traffic Operations Manager Joe Rosenlund at 576-6430.
