Road Repair Will Impact Traffic on a Portion of Englewood Avenue

Traffic on Englewood Avenue between 34th Avenue and 40th Avenue will be impacted for at least a day while City of Yakima crews try and pinpoint the source of a leak that is affecting the integrity of the roadway.

The project will begin at 6:00 am on Wednesday, September 9th. While the project is underway, traffic on Englewood between 34th and 40th will be reduced to one lane. The eastbound lane will be closed to all traffic along that section of Englewood. The westbound lane will remain open. Flaggers will be on site to direct traffic, including the alternating use of the westbound lane by both westbound and eastbound traffic.

The project will hopefully be completed by 4:00 pm on September 9th, but may be extended if need be.

Detours around the project area will be available, but because of heavy traffic volumes in the area, drivers can expect delays in and around the project area until the work is completed. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible. Emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area if necessary.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
