Wet weather has interfered with the completion of a road repair project along a five-block section of Yakima Avenue. Originally expected to be done by Friday, February 12th, the project is now expected to last through Friday, February 19th. Traffic along that section of Yakima Avenue will be impacted while the project is underway.

City of Yakima crews will be sealing cracks and filling voids along the section of Yakima Avenue between 7th Avenue and 12th Avenue from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm through February 19th. Flaggers will be on site and signage will direct drivers through the project area. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in the areas where road repairs are being made.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained and traffic will be allowed through the project area when possible.

As always, schedules for this type of project are subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
