School Zone Painting to Impact Traffic Next Week

City of Yakima crews will be painting school zone markings at several locations next week, which will impact traffic in those areas.

From April 3rd  through April 6th, City crews will be painting school zone markings near Washington Middle School, Adams Elementary, Garfield Elementary, Barge-Lincoln Elementary, Davis High School, Gilbert Elementary, and McKinley Elementary.  Traffic in those areas may be affected while the work is underway.

City crews are taking advantage of students being on spring break next week to get the school zone markings painting completed.

As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily depending on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

For more information about the project, contact Traffic Operations Supervisor Dan Nickoloff at 509-576-6746.
