Sewer Line Extension Project Update

Paving activities will result in the closure of the north/south alley between South 1st Street and South 6th Street, and Arlington Street and Nob Hill Boulevard, from Wednesday, May 14th to Thursday, May 15th. Paving activities will occur on Nob Hill Boulevard between South 1st Street and South 6th Street, from Monday, May 12th through Wednesday, May 14th, resulting in nighttime closures.

As part of an ongoing industrial waste sewer extension project, a domestic sanitary sewer main is also being rehabilitated between Ranch Rite Road and Arlington Street. Rehabilitation should be complete by Friday, May 16th. Construction activities may temporarily affect homeowners and businesses adjacent to the project area. Property owners will be notified a minimum of 24 hours prior to any service disruption.

During the week beginning Monday, May 12th, the industrial waste sewer line extension project will result in a one-lane closure of North 1st Avenue halfway between Quince Street and Poplar Street. The closure duration is anticipated to be from Monday, May 12th through Thursday, May 15th. Following pipe installation, concrete surface restoration will be constructed on North 1st Avenue.

During the project, traffic delays in the areas are likely to occur. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the project area will be impacted, but will be maintained when possible. Emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area if necessary.

As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

P.O.W. Contracting, Inc., a Pasco-based firm, is serving as the primary contractor on the industrial waste sewer extension project.
