Traffic signals at the intersection of 16th Avenue and Tieton Drive will be shut down temporarily during the morning on Tuesday, May 8th for about two hours while City of Yakima crews make wiring changes to accommodate flashing yellow arrow operations for eastbound and westbound traffic.
Between 9:00 am and about 11:00 am on May 8th, the signals at the 16th Avenue and Tieton Drive intersection will not be working. Temporary stop signs will be in place and traffic through the intersection will be restricted to one lane in each direction. Drivers should be especially attentive while traveling through the project area.
Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related works zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.
During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur. Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.
Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained as best as possible.
As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
