Traffic Signal Work at 56th Avenue and Summitview to Affect Drivers

Traffic signals at the intersection of 56th Avenue and Summitview Avenue will be shut down temporarily during the morning on Wednesday, May 23rd for about three hours while City of Yakima crews make wiring changes to accommodate flashing yellow arrow operations.

Between 9:00 am and about noon on May 23rd, the signals at the 56th Avenue and Summitview Avenue intersection will not be working.  Temporary stop signs will be in place and traffic through the intersection will be restricted to one lane in each direction.  Drivers should be especially attentive while traveling through the project area.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related works zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained as best as possible.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
