Train Track Repair Will Impact Traffic on Portion of North 1st Street

Traffic on North 1st Street in the area of G Street will be impacted for most of each day on November 1st and November 2nd while Columbia Basin Railroad crews make repairs to train tracks that cross North 1st Street.

Work on the project will begin at 7:00 am on Thursday, November 1st and Friday, November 2nd and end at about 3:30 pm both days.  While the project is underway, both northbound and southbound traffic on North 1st Street in the area of G Street will be restricted to one lane.

Drivers are reminded that the speed limit through all traffic-related works zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes until the project is completed.

Access to businesses in the project area will be maintained as best as possible.  Emergency vehicles will be allowed through the project area as necessary.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
