Tree Removal on 62nd Avenue to Impact Traffic

A tree removal project on 62nd Avenue will impact traffic along several blocks of the street for most of each day from Monday, June 13th through Friday, June 17th.

Crews will be removing a large tree located in public right-of-way on 62nd Avenue from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm each day from June 13th through June 17th.  In order to ensure the highest degree of safety for both crews and the public, 62nd Avenue between Walnut Avenue and Tieton Drive will be closed during project work hours (6:00 am to 4:00 pm).  No traffic will be allowed through that portion of 62nd Avenue during project work hours, so drivers will be directed to detours around the project area.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained if possible and traffic will be allowed through the project area if absolutely necessary.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For additional information about this project, contact Streets and Traffic Operations Manager Joe Rosenlund at 576-6430.
