Tree Removal on 7th Avenue to Impact Traffic

A tree removal project on 7th Street will impact traffic along a one-block section of the street for most of each day on Thursday, June 16th and Friday, June 17th.

Crews will be working to remove a large tree located in public right-of-way on 7th Street from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm each day on June 16th and June 17th.  In order to ensure the highest degree of safety for both crews and the public, 7th Street between Lincoln Avenue and D Street will be closed during project work hours (6:00 am to 3:30 pm).  No traffic will be allowed through that portion of 7th Street during project work hours.  Drivers will be directed to detour routes around the project area by flaggers.

Cars also need to be removed from parking spaces along the portion of 7th Street between Lincoln Avenue and D Street during project work hours.  Cars not removed by their owners may be towed.

During the project, traffic delays in the area are likely to occur.  Drivers should use alternate routes if possible until the project is completed.

Access to homes and businesses in the area will be maintained if possible and traffic will be allowed through the project area if absolutely necessary.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
