Tree Trimming on 40th Avenue to Affect Drivers

Tree trimming along a section of 40th Avenue will impact traffic for about three hours on Tuesday, March 14th.

City of Yakima crews will be cutting back branches on trees along 40th Avenue between Englewood Avenue and Lincoln Avenue to improve driver and pedestrian safety in the area from 11:00 am until about 2:00 pm on March 14th.  Southbound traffic along that section of 40th Avenue will be diverted into a northbound lane, resulting in traffic moving through the project area in one lane in each direction.

Flaggers will be in place to reroute drivers through the area where tree trimming operations will be underway.

Access to homes and businesses in and near the project area will be affected.  Drivers are encouraged to access businesses in the project area via entrances along Englewood Avenue while the project is underway.  Access to homes in the project area will be maintained as best as possible.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For additional information about this project, contact Streets and Traffic Operations Manager Joe Rosenlund at 576-6430.
