The new Windows Alive! art exhibit opens this Friday, October 3rd, in Downtown Yakima. It can be seen along the northside of Yakima Avenue between Hotel Maison and 3rd Street. An artists reception is 5:30 pm Friday at Hotel Maison, 321 E. Yakima Avenue.

The exhibit will be available for viewing through late March 2026.

The artists’ complete statements and samples of their work can be found at https://windowsalive.com/

Following are the Central Washington artists selected for the new Fall/Winter 2025-26 Windows Alive! exhibit, including an excerpt from their artist bios/statements,

  • Bea Plath: “I began painting in 2011 to fill my winter days after retirement. Around the same time, I heard the term, ‘Vocation of Love,’ from a friend. I began painting with that vocation in mind.”
  • John Fannin: “Seeking the uncommon in the common is the theme that runs through my photographs in this collection taken in 2024 and 2025 in Budapest, Hungary.”
  • Dani Redfeldt: “My work blends techniques from both acrylics and oils to create tranquil, harmonious landscapes that evoke a sense of tranquility and connection with nature.”
  • Mary Hale: “I started painting seriously when I was about 15, using tempera paints and a lot of hopes and prayers. From there, I got into acrylics and later branched out into oil paints and mixed media pieces.”
  • Ketsiri and Daniel DeBord: “Our photography is a celebration of nature’s beauty, capturing the awe-inspiring landscapes and delicate details that make each place unique.”

The Yakima Arts Commission, an advisory group appointed by the Yakima City Council, developed the Windows Alive! idea to harness the creativity of Central Washington artists.

Now in its 12th year, Windows Alive exhibits have featured artwork of over 150 Central Washington artists.

Following a submission and evaluation process, the above artists were chosen to be part of the latest “Windows Alive!” exhibition.
