The City of Yakima, Washington is pleased to announce that applications for project funding from the Home Investment Partnership Program-American Rescue Plan (HOME-ARP) program are now open. The City of Yakima was awarded funding from the HOME-ARP program in a one-time allocation from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). After consultation from 28 local housing and service agencies, the City of Yakima and Yakima County developed their respective plans and established programs to address community needs, which are included in the “HOME-ARP Allocation Plan”. The City of Yakima HOME-ARP Allocation Plan, as approved by HUD, will be used to guide and evaluate the review of funding requests for projects that prioritize rental housing to Qualifying Populations.

Qualifying Populations

Under HOME-ARP program, and fully described in the City of Yakima HOME-ARP Allocation Plan, funding is limited to addressing the needs of Qualifying Populations which include individuals or families are those that are:

  1. Experiencing Homelessness;
  2. At risk of being homelessness;
  3. Fleeing, or attempting to flee domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking;
  4. Part of other populations where providing supportive services or assistance would prevent a family’s homelessness or would serve those with the greatest risk of housing instability; or
  5. Veterans and families that include a veteran family member that meet one of the above criteria.

All applications for HOME-ARP funding must be completed, saved and submitted no later than 4:00 PM (PST) on February 2, 2024. A cover letter may be attached with the PDF application.
