The first fall community clean up on Saturday, September 14th will target District 1, which primarily includes Yakima neighborhoods West of 40th Avenue. A free drop off site will be open from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at 75th Avenue and Mead Avenue. Anyone bringing trash to the drop off site is urged to separate

The third and final public workshop to discuss the future of Downtown Yakima is set for Monday, September 9th in room “E” at the Yakima Convention Center. The meeting, which will begin at 6:30 pm, will provide community members with another opportunity to give input on the development of a comprehensive master plan for downtown.

The first of four fall community clean up events in Yakima is scheduled for Saturday, September 14th and is primarily targeting the western portion of the City. An ongoing project to resurface several key sections of Yakima streets this year will impact traffic on sections of 16th Avenue, 40th Avenue, Walnut Street and Tieton Drive next week. Tieton Drive between 32nd Avenue to 40th Avenue will be closed overnight (8:00 pm to 6:00 am) to all through traffic, from Tuesday, September 3rd
