Second Yakima Fall Clean Up Day Set For Saturday

The second in a series of fall community clean up events sponsored by the City of Yakima is scheduled for Saturday, September 28th and will target District 2, which is primarily south of Tieton Drive between 40th Avenue and 1st Street.  A free drop off site will be open from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm

The Yakima City Council held its most recent regular agenda business meeting on Tuesday, September 3rd.  Action taken by the Council on September 3rd included: –   Banning smoking at special events in public parks and within 25 feet of playgrounds –   Extending a moratorium on new cell towers and wireless communication facilities until December 31st – 


Road Resurfacing Project to Impact Traffic on Major City Streets

An ongoing project to resurface several key sections of Yakima streets this year will impact traffic on sections of 16th Avenue, 40th Avenue, Walnut Street and Tieton Drive next week. Tieton Drive between 32nd Avenue to 40th Avenue will be closed overnight (8:00 pm to 6:00 am) to all through traffic, from Tuesday, September 3rd
