Yakima City Council May 17th Regular Meeting Review

The Yakima City Council held a regular meeting on Tuesday, May 17th. Action taken by the Council included: Approving an agreement with the Millennium Foundation to install mosaic art at Miller Park; Authorizing grant agreement acceptance from the Department of Commerce through the Community Law Enforcement Partnership Program to implement the “Community Action Days” program;


Clean City Program Reports First Quarter Progress

Abating/cleaning 1,336 incidents of graffiti, clearing over 35 tons of garbage and removing 563 grocery carts are some of the City of Yakima Clean City Program activities during the first three months of 2022. Installation of Gas Main Will Interrupt Traffic

Traffic will be intermittently interrupted during the next two weeks while Cascade Natural Gas (CNG) crews begin Phase 2 of an 8-inch gas main installation. On Monday, May 9th, CNG will start on Bonnie Doon Avenue, working west from 19th Avenue to 30th Avenue. Crews will then proceed south on 19th Avenue to Nob Hill

Asphalt Repairs to Restrict Traffic on South 1st Street

Asphalt repair work will result in temporary traffic restrictions on South 1st Street between Walnut Street and East Pine Street this Friday, May, 6th. Work on the project will begin at around 7:00 am and last until 3:30 pm. Traffic will be limited to one lane in both directions in the project area during scheduled
