An ongoing project to resurface several key sections of Yakima streets this summer and fall will impact traffic on sections of 16th Avenue, Walnut Street, Tieton Drive, 40th Avenue and Summitview from September 11h through September 12th. 16th   Avenue between Englewood and River Road will be closed to crossing traffic tonight, Wednesday night, September

The first fall community clean up on Saturday, September 14th will target District 1, which primarily includes Yakima neighborhoods West of 40th Avenue.  A free drop off site will be open from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at 75th Avenue and Mead Avenue.  Anyone bringing trash to the drop off site is urged to separate

The third and final public workshop to discuss the future of Downtown Yakima is set for Monday,  September 9th in room “E” at the Yakima Convention Center.  The meeting, which will begin at 6:30 pm, will provide community members with another opportunity to give input on the development of a comprehensive master plan for downtown.

Key results from the online phase of the 2013 Yakima Citizen Survey are largely similar to the results from the mail-in phase of the survey that were released last month. The online version of the 2013 survey, which was made available in mid July and closed during the first week of August, was filled out

The Yakima City Council held its most recent regular agenda business meeting on Tuesday, September 3rd.  Action taken by the Council on September 3rd included: –   Banning smoking at special events in public parks and within 25 feet of playgrounds –   Extending a moratorium on new cell towers and wireless communication facilities until December 31st – 

The first of four fall community clean up events in Yakima is scheduled for Saturday, September 14th and is primarily targeting the western portion of the City.  The event was moved from September 7th because of impacts on Yakima refuse routes caused by the Labor Day holiday. Results from both the 2012 and 2013 Yakima
