Lane Closures Required for 10th and Washington Signal Replacement

Traffic at the intersection of Washington Avenue and 10th Avenue will be reduced to one lane in all directions Thursday morning, May 30th.

Crews will replace a damaged traffic signal cabinet at the intersection with a newer, fully functional cabinet.

Work is scheduled to begin at 9:30 am Wednesday. It is expected to be complete by no later than 11:00 am.

The traffic signal will be dark during Thursday morning’s project work hours. It will be replaced with temporary stop signs in each direction.

Drivers are reminded the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

As always, the schedule for this type of a project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

Contact Traffic Operations Supervisor Dan Nickoloff at 509-576-6746 for more about the project.
