Yakima Parks and Recreation wants to hear from the community about programs and activities at Washington Fruit Community Center. That led to organizing next Monday’s listening session/tour at the center, located north of Miller Park at 602 North 4th Street.
Input about Washington Fruit Community Center and other city parks program can also be provided anytime by e-mailing askparks@yakimawa.gov
Yakima Parks and Recreation is responsible for programs and activities at the Washington Fruit Community Center at Miller Park. That was the result of an operational change the Yakima City Council formally approved for the center earlier this year.
Programs added recently at Washington Fruit Community Center include Meals on Wheels delivery every Friday from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. Meals on Wheels delivers 7-day supplies in the Center’s parking lot. Meals are available for those ages 60 and older. Those interested in applying can call Meals on Wheels at 426-2601.
