This Wednesday, July 24^th, City of Yakima crews will continue a series of traffic signal head upgrades at intersections this summer.

Crews will be at the intersection of 3^rd Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. As with the other signal upgrades, work will begin at 6:30 am tomorrow and be complete by 12:00 pm.

The intersection will be reduced to a single lane of traffic in each direction, with stop signs posted in all directions. Signals at the intersection of 3^rd Avenue and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be dark tomorrow during project work hours.

Past and future signal upgrades are planned at the following intersections:

• June 5^th           1^st Ave & Lincoln Ave
• June 26^th         3^rd Ave & Lincoln Ave
• July 10^th           5^th Ave & Lincoln Ave
• July 17^th           5^th Ave & Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd
• July 24^th           3^rd Ave & Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd
• July 31^st           1^st Ave & Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd
• August 7^th        16^th Ave & Yakima Ave
• August 14^th      16^th Ave & Summitview Ave
• August 21^st      16^th Ave & Fruitvale Blvd

Drivers are reminded the speed limit through all traffic-related work zones within the City of Yakima is 20 miles-per-hour.

As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.
