A 16-year-old died this evening after being shot by an 18-year-old in West Valley.
Yakima Police Department (“YPD”) officers responded to a call of shots fired at about 6:00 pm tonight at 1323 South 80th Avenue. A witness reported to law enforcement that a vehicle left the area shortly after the report of shots was submitted.
YPD officers responded to the scene along with deputies from the Yakima County Sheriff’s office. A perimeter was established after it was reported that the suspected shooter has excited a vehicle and was on foot. The suspect was arrested by Sheriff’s deputies.
The shooting victim was transported to a Yakima hospital where he was declared deceased.
