2017 Yakima Farmers’ Market Season Underway

The 2017 Yakima Farmers’ Market season is off and running.

Now in its 18th year, the market opened for the 2017 season in May.  The market is open from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm each Sunday through October 29th. It is located downtown on 3rd Street between Yakima Avenue and Chestnut Avenue.

Shoppers will find vendors offering fresh produce, original art, beautiful flowers, and mouthwatering concessions – all within a few steps of each other.

A hearty breakfast including pancakes, bacon or sausage, and eggs is served every Sunday from 8:30 am to 10:00 am at the market.  Breakfast costs just $5.00.

“The Yakima Farmers’ Market is an important part of the ongoing revitalization of Downtown Yakima,” said City of Yakima Communications & Public Affairs Director Randy Beehler. “It’s a great place to see friends and neighbors and to experience the amazing produce and products from right here in the Yakima Valley. Dropping by the Yakima Farmers’ Market should become a regular part of the weekend routine.”

Special events are planned throughout the 2017 Yakima Farmers’ Market season. On July 30th, the market will officially celebrate its 18th anniversary.  A Kids Day is held the third Sunday of each month – the next one is August. 20th. A special Grandparents Day event is on tap for September 10th.
