Project to Impact Traffic at 40th and Chestnut

Traffic will be restricted tomorrow, Thursday, at the intersection of 40th Avenue and Chestnut Avenue. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction through the intersection from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm tomorrow so crews can repair a concrete barrier. Mayor Patricia Byers Earns Certificate of Municipal Leadership

City Council to Resume Study Sessions

The Yakima City Council has agreed to resume study sessions. Council members approved the move during their regular meeting last night, Tuesday, February 2nd. The schedule approved last night calls for study sessions at 5:00 pm on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month beginning next Tuesday, February 9th. Study sessions will include topics


City Seeks Input for Housing Action Plan

The City of Yakima continues to seek the community’s input on housing needs through a survey in English and Spanish. The City received a $100,000 grant from the Washington State Department of Commerce to develop a Housing Action Plan (HAP). The survey will assist the City in creating the plan. “Help us develop a great
