Poll Results Show Overwhelming Support for Airport Expansion
More than 80 percent of people responding to a City of Yakima poll strongly support expansion of Yakima Air Terminal-McAllister Field (YKM). The poll was open from Dec. 31, 2022 to Jan. 30, 2023, receiving 1,404 responses: “The City of Yakima appreciates the many, many people who took the time to participate in this poll,”
Tree Trimming to Close Section of Naches Avenue
A tree trimming project will require closing a section of Naches Avenue tomorrow morning, Wednesday, February 1st. From 6:00 am to 12:00 pm tomorrow, Naches Avenue will be closed between Walnut Street and Chestnut Avenue for tree trimming. Art Projects Sought for 2023 Windows Alive! Display
The Yakima Arts Commission is seeking applications for the 2023 Downtown Yakima Windows Alive! project. The deadline for artists to submit an application is 5:00 pm on Friday, March 3rd. Water Line Work Will Result In Closure of Summitview Avenue
Water line work will result in the overnight closure of Summitview Avenue between 40th Avenue and 39th Avenue starting Sunday, January, 29th through Thursday, February, 2nd. The Summitview Avenue closure will be in effect during project work hours that begin each night at around 8:00 pm and last until 6:00 am. Due to heavy traffic
Water Line Work to Restrict Traffic on South 3rd Avenue
Water line work will result in traffic restrictions on South 3rd Avenue between Pine Street and Division Street on Thursday, January 26th. Work on the project will begin at around 7:00 am and last until 3:30 pm. City of Yakima water customers in the project area can expect water outages during the project work hours.
Nob Hill Boulevard Overpass Repairs to Impact Traffic
East Nob Hill Boulevard overpass traffic will be limited to one lane at times tomorrow, Wednesday, January 25th, for a project to replace damaged bridge railing. Traffic restrictions will be in effect during project work hours of 7:00 am to 2:00 pm on Wednesday. There will be railing repairs on both sides of the overpass.
