City Council to Resume Study Sessions

The Yakima City Council has agreed to resume study sessions. Council members approved the move during their regular meeting last night, Tuesday, February 2nd.

The schedule approved last night calls for study sessions at 5:00 pm on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month beginning next Tuesday, February 9th.

Study sessions will include topics such as public safety, the Housing Action Plan and financial sustainability.

The study sessions will be held via Zoom. They will air live on Y-PAC, Charter Spectrum Channel 194, and on the City’s website at Live Stream | City Council (yakimawa.gov)

As is typical with study sessions, there will be no public comment during the special meetings. Agendas for City Council regular meetings and special meetings are all available at Agendas and Minutes | City Council (yakimawa.gov)

The Yakima City Council discontinued study sessions last year due to COVID-19 precautions. Aside from special meetings last fall to prepare for the 2021 budget, Council has typically held only regular meetings, which are the first and third Tuesday of each month.
