City of Yakima crews are currently working on a water main break that occurred earlier today. As a result of the break, water service has been temporarily affected and traffic in the area near the break is being impacted.
The water main break occurred in the 200 block South 25th Avenue and water service has temporarily been shut off to customers on 25th Avenue between Chestnut Avenue and Tieton Drive.
South 25th Avenue will remain closed between Chestnut Avenue and Tieton Drive until repairs are completed. Accommodations for emergency vehicles will be maintained.
Domestic water service and traffic in the affected area is expected to be restored in a few hours.
