City of Yakima Plans Closures for July 4th

City of Yakima facilities will be closed Tuesday, July 4th, in observance of Independence Day.

That includes City Hall, Y-PAC, Public Works, the Harman Center, Law and Justice Center and Parks and Recreation offices.

The Yakima City Council meeting typically held on the first Tuesday of the month will instead be Wednesday, July 5th, at 5:30 pm in City Hall.

Business offices for the Police and Fire Departments will be closed. Emergency services will remain available.

Yakima Transit will not provide bus service next Tuesday. Free shuttles will be available to and from 4th of July festivities at State Fair Park.

There will be no City of Yakima garbage pick-up service on Tuesday, July 4th. Garbage collection service schedules by the City’s Refuse Division for Tuesday through Friday will be delayed by one day next week. Those with service scheduled for Friday, July 7th, will instead have their garbage picked up on Saturday, July 8th.

The one-day delay next week also applies to yard waste.

To ensure proper service, residents are asked to have their carts set out by 6:00 am.

Though City of Yakima offices will be closed Tuesday, city water, sewer and refuse customers can use a bill payment kiosk outside City Hall’s main entrance on 2nd Street that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Online utility bill payments also continue to be an option. Click Utility Services (yakimawa.gov) for more information.

Yakima Municipal Court will be closed Tuesday, but accepts online payments at http://yakimamunicourtpay.com/
