Many of the City of Yakima’s facilities will be closed on Monday, May 29th, in observance of Memorial Day.
That includes City Hall, Y-PAC, Public Works, and Parks and Recreation offices.
Business offices for the police and fire departments will be closed. Emergency services will remain available. Yakima Municipal Court will be closed for the holiday.
Yakima Transit will not provide bus service Monday.
The City’s Harman Center will be closed Saturday, May 27th and Monday, May 29th.
There will be no City of Yakima garbage pick-up service on Monday, May 29th. Garbage collection service schedules by the City’s Refuse Division will be delayed by one day next week. Those with service scheduled for Friday, June 2nd, will instead have their garbage picked up on Saturday, June 3rd.
The one-day delay next week also applies to yard waste. To ensure proper service, residents are asked to have their carts set out by 6:00 am.
Though City offices will be closed for Memorial Day, registrations for City of Yakima Parks and Recreation programs, as well as picnic shelter reservations, can still be made Monday by visiting https://yakimaparks.com/
In addition, City water, sewer and refuse customers can use a bill payment kiosk outside City Hall’s main entrance on 2nd Street that is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
