City of Yakima Publishes 2022 Water Quality Report

The latest information about City of Yakima water treatment and water quality programs is now available.

The four-page 2022 Water Quality Report is available at 2022 CCR Final .PUB (yakimawa.gov) and in Spanish at 2022 CCR Spanish Final .pub (yakimawa.gov)

It was provided to the Yakima City Council during its meeting on Wednesday, July 5th.

“We hope this report will inform the community about their tap water and inspire confidence that the water we all rely on is of the highest quality possible,” said Water/Irrigation Manager Mike Shane. “In pursuit of that goal the Water/Irrigation Division staff is committed to around-the-clock vigilance and service. We are proud to announce the City’s tap water meets and exceeds all state and federal requirements.”

Yakima’s water quality has received awards at regional and state levels:

  • The City of Yakima won the Best Tasting Water award in the American Water Works Association (AWWA) Central Washington Subsection competition during March 2023.
  • The City of Yakima Water Treatment Plant has received the Gold Certificate of Achievement, presented by the Washington State Department of Health (DOH) Office of Drinking Water for meeting the high standards of DOH’s Treatment Optimization Program for 10 continuous years.

Recently, the City has asked the community to assist with water conservation due to an anticipated drier-than-usual summer. Water-saving tips are available at Make every drop count! | Media (yakimawa.gov)
