An update on Yakima County’s economy will be presented at 1:30 pm this Thursday, October 26^th, during a meeting of the Yakima City Council’s Economic Development Committee. The meeting will be in Council Chambers at Yakima City Hall, 129 North Second Street.

The three-member committee will hear from Regional Labor Economist Donald W. Meseck of the Washington State Employment Security Department.

“The committee will hear a presentation on the status of our local economy,” said Sean Hawkins, the City of Yakima’s Economic Development Manager. “The City Manager thought it would be good for the committee to have this information. It puts in perspective how the economy is performing.”

Meseck’s presentation will include PowerPoint slides and feature employment figures the Employment Security Department plans to issue today, October 24^th.

The Council Economic Development Committee’s meeting is open to the public.
