Downtown Summer Nights Series Returns for a Seventh Year

The Downtown Summer Nights Concert Series returns to Historic North Front Street this Thursday, June 13th.

The 2019 series will kick-off Thursday, June 13th, with Rafael Tranquilino, a blues guitarist from the Seattle area, followed by The Olson Band, which burst onto the country music scene in 2013 when it won a national songwriting contest and was introduced at the Grand Ole Opry.

This year’s 10-show series will include no fewer than 20 musical acts during its run from mid-June through late-August.  Each Thursday concert will run from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The only exception is July 4th, when there will be no concert.

The event is free and open to all ages. Each week features two bands and a bustling beer garden pouring your Yakima Valley craft favorites. In addition, local vendors will be on hand offering a variety of food, art, and merchandise. A kids’ area is also featured.

Misting tents will be available to cool off during especially hot nights.

Motorists are advised the free series will require the closure of North Front Street between Staff Sgt. Pendleton Way and Yakima Avenue

The concert series is produced by the Downtown Association of Yakima in conjunction with Chinook Fest.

Since its successful debut in 2013, Yakima’s Downtown Summer Nights concert series has become an integral part of Yakima’s summer music scene.
