Emergency Sewer Pipe Replacement to Keep Section of 20th Avenue Closed

A section of 20th Avenue that was first closed on July 12th for an emergency sewer pipe replacement project will tentatively reopen next week.

As a result of the project, 20th Avenue between Nob Hill Boulevard and West Prasch Avenue remains closed.

Access to homes and businesses in the project area is being maintained as best as possible and emergency vehicles are be allowed through the project area when necessary.

The project may cause interruptions in scheduled refuse collection. Customers may contact the City of Yakima Refuse Division at 575-6005 with any questions or concerns.

As always, the schedule for this type of project is subject to change daily dependent on weather, equipment failure, and emergencies.

For additional information regarding this project, contact Wastewater/Stormwater Operations Superintendent Marc Cawley at 594-8388.
