Fair Avenue Roundabout Opening to Traffic

A ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, November 17th will officially mark completion of the Fair Avenue Roundabout project. Construction on the $2.6 million project began in early June of this year and is finishing on time and on budget.

Local and state officials, representatives from the Yakima business community, and other project partners have been invited to attend the 11:00 am ribbon cutting on November 17th at the intersection of Fair Avenue and 10th Street. Following the dedication ceremony, a caravan of City vehicles will take the first official trip on the roundabout. Yakima community members are also invited to follow the caravan on foot to get a firsthand look at the new roundabout.

Granite Construction, Inc. served as the project’s primary contractor.

The Fair Avenue Roundabout represents the first major infrastructure connected to the Mill Site Redevelopment Project, a multi-year effort to transform more than 200 acres that formerly housed a Boise Cascade sawmill and plywood production facility into a mixed-used district.
