Fourth Flight to Resume at Yakima Air Terminal-McAllister Field

Alaska Airlines will resume a fourth daily flight to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport from Yakima Air Terminal-McAllister Field this fall.

Yakima’s fourth daily flight to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport will resume on Sunday, November 4th for Alaska Airlines’ Fall/Winter schedule.

“We’re excited the flight will be returning as the airport typically witnesses an increase in ridership during the winter months,” said Airport Director Rob Peterson.

The airline announced this past spring that the fourth flight from Yakima to Seattle would be temporarily canceled. That cancellation went into effect last Friday, August 24th and is in place until November 4th, when the fourth flight will resume.

“The announcement earlier this year had nothing to do with local ridership numbers, which have remained consistent” said Peterson. “Alaska’s decision to discontinue the fourth flight was seasonal. And we weren’t alone as a variety of other airports in the Pacific Northwest witnessed similar adjustments.”
