Franklin Pool Remains Closed due to Unhealthy Air Quality

The City of Yakima Franklin Pool remains closed today, Friday, due to unhealthy air quality.

The pool has been closed since yesterday, Thursday, due to unhealthy air quality caused by smoke from wildfires in the region.

The Washington State Department of Ecology has issued an Air Quality Alert for the Yakima area that is in effect through 10:00 am on Monday, August 16th.

The National Weather Service (NWS) advises that when air quality is unhealthy, everyone should limit time outdoors. Those with asthma, respiratory infections, diabetes, lung or heart disease should stay indoors, the NWS advises.
